Hormones

Hormones are chemical substances that act as signals or messenger substances in the body. As such, they are involved in the regulation of numerous bodily processes, from respiration to sugar metabolism. Plants also produce hormones or substances with hormone-like effects. In food supplements, both synthetically produced hormones that can also be produced by humans themselves (example: melatonin) and plant ingredients that act like endogenous hormones or can intervene in the hormone balance (example: isoflavones) are used.
